Mick Sharp and Jean Williamson do not sell, share, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless you have asked us to, we have secured your permission, or we are required by law to do so (eg: provide details of customers &/or orders for tax purposes).
We do not have an electronic/digital database or mailing list of customers and colleagues, and we do not keep such details in the address book of our computer email package.
We do have paper file cards containing basic details of photography projects undertaken with publishers, heritage organisations, picture researchers and authors. We used to send out occasional mailshots about our photo library and books, but we do not do this now. We do occasionally contact colleagues (many of whom are friends) about possible projects etc.
If you send an email (which is not obviously phishing or spam) to our website contact address we assume that you would like a reply and we act accordingly. We regularly delete emails, but we do keep some on our computer for reference, especially if they concern an ongoing project or form part of a long-standing correspondence.
If you make a purchase through our website, we are required to keep those details in our paper accounts for at least six years for income tax purposes.
The people on our links pages are known personally to us, but we can make no guarantees regarding their privacy statements, and we are not responsible for their use of any details that you supply to them. We routinely delete cookies and viewing history from the sites we visit.
Obviously, in the case of a mail order we must supply a customer’s name and delivery address (as supplied by the customer) to a postal service or courier.
